MUMBAI: Indian Idol contestant Pawandeep Rajan has a huge fan base. Several fan clubs and Twitter trends are dedicated to him. After each performance, fans start praising him on social media. Well, in the recent episode of Indian Idol 12, Pawandeep Rajan’s fans felt the makers discriminated against him. The makers had introduced the Boys vs Girls round. During one segment, Pawandeep and Arunita Kanjilal competed but the judges announced Arunita as the winner of the round.
After defeating him, the judges asked her what punishment she would like to give him. Arunita said that she wants to give Pawandeep something sweet. A cake was then brought on the stage, and Arunita, along with host Aditya Narayan, smashed Pawandeep's face on the cake. People did not like this action. Furious fans thought this is discrimination against him because the rule of punishment was not imposed on any other contestant. They even slammed Arunita was playing along.
A fan wrote, “The worst thing of that episode was the way Pawandeep was treated, I know this episode was shooted near Pawandeep's birthday, but is this the way to celebrate his special day?” Another one said, “Very disappointed with over-action of #AdityaNarayan on #Pawandeeprajan's face cake punch. #arunitakanjilal1 action was enough for entertainment. No action was required to demoralize #Pawandeeprajan.”
Another user tweeted, “This is totally unfair.. pawan is far more better than Arunita... and yes pawan is the winner for obviously.. #WeLovePawandeep @RajanPawandeep.”
