Tejasvi Welingker, the lead of Life OK’s thriller 26-13 has no major issue with her show ending on 31 May (2013). “We are working towards the climax. It will be very interesting, do watch out for it.” She does not think that low ratings were responsible for the show’s early closure. “26-12 went very well and had great TRP numbers. So people had high hopes from its sequel. But unfortunately audience’s reactions were not as good compared to 26-12 and the recent TRPs clearly indicated the same. Since the numbers of season 1 were better than season 2, so we decided to wrap the latter sooner rather than dragging to a point which the audience doesn’t want to watch at all. There was no other reason for shutting down the show.” Looking ahead this engineering student says that now she will concentrate on her exams which will start in June and last for a month. “As for acting, I am now ready to again go through the process of repeated look tests and auditions to bag more TV shows or anything else in the entertainment field. I am very realistic and know that if luck is on my side, I may grab one more project very easily, but then again things may not happen that way, so either way, I am ready for the long haul.” So what kind of role would you like to play? “I am open to any genre for I believe an actor should be very versatile. I should be able to laugh, cry or be aggressive, if the role so demands.” In closing, Tejasvi just can’t stop thanking her26-12 and 26-13 unit (Directors Siddharth Sengupta and Basu Mitra). “Working with them has taught me a lot about the acting craft. This was my first brush with the performing arts. I had not done any kind of formal acting education and neither had I participated in dramatics either in school or college. They just told me to be myself. Throughout the show I have never given any kind of loud reactions. I barely acted and whatever I felt at the moment I showed on my face.” Have a great career ahead, Tejasvi!!!
