Kaanta Laga girl Shefali Zariwala is taking her and beau Parag Tyagi’s latest elimination from Nach Baliye 5 in her stride. “It was a phenomenal experience. We got an opportunity to do crazy stuff what we could not have done elsewhere. We learnt so much about the dance craft as well and above all, got to spend quality time with each other. We are of course disappointed that we got eliminated now. It came as a shock as we thought that we will at least make it to the finals.” Although Shefali accepts that the judges, especially Sajid Khan, were harsh. “But I take it in the positive spirit for you only raise the bar for talented dancers and we both were good right from day one. This pressure sometimes did get to us though.” Shefali also does not discount the fact that audiences do vote more for the contestants, then their dance. “Some of them are more pre-disposed towards their favourite artists irrespective of whether they were dancing well or not. This also happens for people are loyal to particular channels and Nach comes on Star Plus and there are artists from the same channel on the show as well. And let’s face it, TV actors are very popular. I wish to make it clear that we have always danced well and our elimination happened because of audience voting and judges marking and other factors, but I think that is all fair and I am cool about it,” emphasized Shefali. She further refused to comment on who she thinks can eventually lift the trophy “for the game is changing every week.” “Even last week when we got knocked out, the performances by some of called weak links in the chain were very good and the strong contenders did very baldly. I am very confused who will win,” she added. Looking ahead, Shefali is keen do more work on TV. “Personally I am not cut out for daily shows and kitchen politics, but TV today is a huge medium and if get a good character I will surely do it.” She is also game for doing item numbers on the big screen. “I always love to dance.” Shefali we hope that you and Parag continue to entertain us in the times to come.
