And from then, my journey in this industry has been on,” says the lady who has also served as a teacher. Speaking about her character in Uttaran, Pratima adds, “I don’t see my character as a grey shaded one. She is very much positive as she thinks about her children. She has a certain mindset, and for her a servant’s child is also a servant no matter what. And her thoughts are justified as she comes from an old school of thought.” Talking about the younger generation of actors she says, “I always believe that this younger lot of actors are not wrong in terms of the attitude they throw. But the ones who select them are wrong, as they only see their faces and not their talent. These kids come to Mumbai and become stars overnight. They have their posters all over the city. I think anybody would lose their mind this way, and after stardom has hit them they feel they need not work hard. But then I always feel that such actors do not have a long journey as one has to be a good person to do good work.” Lastly talking about her latest projects on the big screen she says, “I am a part of Priyadarshan’s Malamaal 2 which is to release on 2nd September and then there is also Ata Pata Lapata with Rajpal Yadav.”
