Item girl turned actress Rakhi Sawant is back in the news. For that matter when was she ever out of news? This time it’s not for Nach Baliye 3 but Chote Ustaad on Star Plus. Rakhi with some other TV stars was roped in for a special episode of the show but it seems that finally she was given a red signal from the channel. “The channel doesn’t want Rakhi to be part of Chote Ustaad. She has already created havoc on news channels about Star Plus (post her losing out at the dance show). Obviously the channel was not too keen on her coming on the show so at the last moment she was dropped,” says a source. When we called up the director and producer of the show, Gajendra Singh, he said, “I don’t have any idea about this. I had called telly stars like Jay Bhanushali, Yash Tonk and Shabbir on the show. But I had planned a separate episode with Rakhi. I don’t think that the channel should have any problem about this.” “I have an independent production house and this platform is given to me by Star Plus. They are very lenient and there had been no hindrance and I can work in my own way,” he adds further. Where ever Rakhi goes she is always in the eye of the storm. And this helps pump up TRPs? And reportedly the TRPs of Chote Ustaad were not so good. “No, I’m not calling Rakhi for the sake of TRPs. It changes from place to place like in the south it may be 1 but in Punjab it may be 9 so this doesn’t matter to me. I know the show is doing well as the concept is good. I believe that talent speaks for itself. We have achieved great heights. I cannot compromise with the quality of the show as I will always make a classy product,” he thunders. Talking about Rakhi, Gajendra says, “She is unique and has her own style. Earlier also she has appeared on the show and had left her mark. I’m 2000% sure of inviting her for one of the special episodes,” he quips. We called up the Senior Creative Director of Star Plus, Anupama Mandloi who refused to say anything. However a person from the channel says, “Gajendra must be doing some other show and I think he may call Rakhi for that show. I have no clue of Rakhi coming on Chote Ustaad.” We again called Gajendra to clarify but his number was not reachable!
