MUMBAI: Rakhi Sawant is a known face in the world of entertainment. In fact, the very words ‘fun and entertainment’ signifies Rakhi Sawant. 

While her Instagram page is a source of some good laughter for her followers, the actress-dancer’s popularity reached new heights after Rakhi entered Bigg Boss 14 as a ‘challenger’ and later became one of the top contestants of the show.

Rakhi did not win the show but she surely won hearts with her conduct and antics. As a result, Rakhi has been trending all over! 

The actress, on the show, had shared many horrific instances from her past life and her ‘not so rosy’ marriage with Ritesh. We had also heard Rahul Mahajan talking about Rakhi’s troubled past to other contestants on the show, post which there were more revelations from the latter.

Recently, in an interview, Rakhi bared it all out about her troubled past, the beatings that she received from her father and maternal uncle and the many 'stitches and marks' on her body. Rakhi shared, “I have so many stitches and marks on my body, hand because girls of our family would not even stand on the balcony of the house. My father and maternal uncle were very strict and they have beaten me a lot as I loved dancing.”.

Rakhi further added, “I had to fight a lot with my family to let me make my career in Bollywood. They would beat me up so that I would quit or give up on my passion for dancing. But I never gave up and continued working hard. I struggled a lot.”.

While Bigg Boss 14 was a professional success for her, on the personal front, Rakhi Sawant has been keeping really worried for her mother who was hospitalised when she was in the Bigg Boss house. She later confirmed that her mother is suffering from cancer. Every now and then, she posts updates on her mother’s health.

In Bigg Boss 14, the measures Rakhi used to take to express his fondness for Rubina Dilaik’s husband Abhinav Shukla was considered hilarious by fans. From writing “I love you Abhinav” all over her body to shadowing him, the segment must have surely entertained the audience. 

Rakhi was one of the top five finalists of the show.
