MUMBAI: Actor Mohsin Khan aka Kartik Goenka is an Indian television actor known for portraying the said role in Star Plus' longest-running Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. 

However before all this, let's find out more about him...

Mohsin Khan is a Gujarati Muslim who was born and brought up in Nadiad (Gujarat). For the unversed, he was initially named Waseem, however, his father finally changed his name to Mohsin Khan.

His family comprises of his father Abdul Waheed Khan, mother Mehzabin Khan, sister Zeba Ahmed, brother-in-law Dr. Taha Ahmed and younger brother Sajjad Khan.

Mohsin did both his schooling and graduation in Mumbai. 

It was in his college days that he embarked upon modelling and got featured in advertisements, cameos and parallel leads in a few Hindi shows. As an 18 y/o teenager, he debuted on the small screen for an advertisement for Ceat tyres and earned a paycheck of Rs. 10,000 for it.

Khan started his mainstream media career as the second assistant director of the film Koyelaanchal. 

However, 2014 was a crucial year for him as he made his television debut as an actor for minimal roles in UTV Bindass' Love By Chance, Colors TV's Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi and in Star Plus' Nisha Aur Uske Cousins.

His career league continued in a similar way for both the years of 2015 and 2016.

Next year, Kartik's career graph shot up high with his breakthrough role of playing 'Kartik Goenka' in Rajan Shahi's show and Hindi television industry's longest-running show till date - Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, which gained him immense fame within a short notice. Kartik Goenka's character plays the husband/ soulmate of lead couple Akshara-Naitik's daughter 'Naira Singhania' (played by Shivangi Joshi).

The perfect pairing of this on-screen couple (in terms of both looks and on-screen chemistry) as helped both Mohsin and Shivangi claim immense popularity as small-screen's ideal couple, right from their very first debut till date.

Lastly, besides receiving prestigious awards along with Shivangi for portraying Kartik's role on-screen, Mohsin's ever-increasing recognition and reputation helped him claim the 'seventeenth place' as the highest placed newcomer in Eastern Eye's 2017's edition of the 50 Sexiest Asian Men in the world. 

In 2018, he went 11 notches up the chart to secure the 'sixth spot' in the 2018's edition of the same list. That year itself, he was also ranked 'fifth' in Biz Asia's TV Personality List.
