The dashing ex cricketer, who is now a popular actor, Salil Ankola is all set to spread his majestic aura on small screen in Colors’ Shani.

The Swastik Productions’ daily, set to launch soon, will see Salil playing Surya Dev, the father of Shani (young pretege Kartikey).

In the promo, one will also witness Salil (48 years) flaunting his six pack abs that could give youngsters a run for their money.

Wanting to know more about his fitness secrets, we buzzed Salil who shared, “First of all I don’t understand the fascination of six pack abs. A person who is pulling a hand cart also has a well cut abs. Anyone who is doing physical work will get it but one should focus on overall fitness. You need to have a proportionate structure and body.”

When quizzed on how he developed a keen interest for fitness, the talented man quipped, “I have always been into fitness and was conscious about it. But a couple of years back when I participated in Power Couple (Sony TV), I realised how important it was to have a fitter and ripped body. That is the USP of all actors. Thankfully, I have time so I can focus on it completely.”

“Since we are shooting in Umergaon for Shani, I do not have much to do in my free hours. I utilise it all in the gym and that has helped me a lot. Also the production house has been taking care of my diet and the combination has worked in my benefit,” he added.
