Shakti Anand to essay Maharana Pratap's father? Rushiraj Pawar approached to play the young Maharana in Sony TV's historical

Sony Entertainment Television’s magnum-opus historical show Maharana Pratap to be produced by Contiloe Telefilms has been the talk of the town of late. The makers we hear, are erecting a studio at a place called Talasari, near Mumbai wherein there is a huge acre of land. The show is slated to launch in a big way post the IPL.

And as of now, talks with quite a lot of big names are on for the cast of the show. Here at Tellychakkar.com, we give you some info on what can be expected in the huge cast.

A little birdie has gone on to tell us that popular actor turned Producer, Shakti Anand is in the reckoning to bag the role of Maharana Pratap’s father, Uday Singh. Also, talks are presently on with Rushiraj Pawar of Chandragupta Maurya fame to play the young Maharana Pratap.

A certain section of the media had earlier reported that Amarr Upadhyay had shot for the pilot of the show long back wherein he was to play the role of the father to Maharana Pratap. However, the casting has changed now, and it looks as though it will be Shakti Anand who will don this prized role, according to our source.

When contacted, Shakti Anand told us that he is busy in a meeting, and he will get back to us. We will surely keep our readers updated.

Rushiraj Pawar’s father told us, “Talks are certainly on, but there is no finalization.”

When contacted Producer Abhimanyu Singh of Contiloe, he refused to comment.

We also texted Sony TV Business Head Sneha Rajani, but she chose not to respond.
