After innumerable twists and turns in its plot, Sony's Kkusum will finally have its lead - its third lead, to be precise. Shilpa Saklani start shooting for the show from 13 May. Confirming the news that has been doing the round for quite a few days, Shilpa says, "Yes, I am doing Kkusum, and I will start shooting from day after tomorrow". Shilpa already plays Ganga in another Balaji show, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhie Bahu Thi on Star Plus, but will now play a much older woman in Kkusum. The age factor has always been a standing problem in Kkusum, with Nausheen Ali Sardar, the first Kkusum, having objections to Ashka Goradia, playing her daughter. How will Shilpa manage, we wonder --- "There are some creative changes that have been initiated and after that, you will understand why a younger person has been chosen to play the character," says Shilpa, with a hint of mischief. Shilpa confirms that she has already signed the contract, but has no idea about the plot. "I haven't got the time to catch the show, but I guess as I start shooting I will get the hang of it," says Shilpa, who claims to have full faith in Ekta Kapoor. Meanwhile, here is some Kkusum trivia that might not bode well for this pretty lady -Shilpa is the third actress to play Kkusum, after Nausheen and Manasi Joshi Roy. She was the third choice to play Kkusum after Nausheen and Ayesha Jhulka after the ratings of the show started dipping recently, and last but not the least, she will start her new innings from 13 May, a friday. Superstitions aside, let's hope this lady makes her mark, for it's time that the serial has at least its lead in place --- then the plot can take care of itself!
