Season 5 of Indian Idol has provided more shocks than awes as far as eliminations are concerned. Rakesh Maini who has hardly struck a wrong note in the entire competition so far was voted out leaving the three judges shell-shocked. Our source says, "Rakesh deserves to be in the top three at least, there was a pin drop silence when it was declared he got less number of votes this week. The judges were annoyed and speechless. They expressed their displeasure over the audience’ decision! Rakesh too could not believe this for a few seconds. But after a lot of discussion and debate, the judges decided to use their veto power and save him this week.” The judges were given this special power of saving any one contestant in the entire competition. The source adds, “They felt today was the right time to use that tool. Rakesh is very talented so it is not good for the show to lose him at this stage.
