Sooraj Barjatya needs no introduction. He is one of the producers who has launched many Bollywood stars under his banner Rajshri. After spreading magic on big screen, Sooraj is impressing the TV audience like no other.

Sooraj recently launched his new family drama Swabhimaan on Colors. In a t?te-?-t?te with Tellychakkar, Sooraj speaks about his new venture, his favourite TV shows, upcoming projects and the Bollywood Khans. Read on:

“Swabhimaan will educate masses that girls can work after marriage. This show will help the society as it deals with a progressive thought. The daily will connect with all age groups, especially women. It will narrate the story of a mother, Sharda, who would give priority to the careers of her daughters rather than finding  prospective grooms.”

When we ask him to share his favourite TV shows, he shares, “I honestly enjoy watching Colors’ Shakti, Shani and my sister Kavita’s show Ek Rishta Saajhedari Ka on Sony TV.” 

So what are his thoughts on the current trend of naagins and supernatural drama working on TV? “It’s there but our shows will never opt that route.”

Shifting focus to 70mm space, Sooraj has worked with Salman Khan in many movies and their last super hit project was Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Is another smash hit Bolly venture round the corner with the Dabangg actor? The master filmmaker reveals, “There is something in the pipeline with Salman, but there is still time for it. I want to do a film with Salman but I have my TV commitments, which are important.”

Good news for Salman fans. But in the next bit one can fathom the strong bonding between Rajshri and Salman.

Sooraj’s reply on the possibility of collaboration with the other Khans is, “Salman is enough for me,”.
