Sriti Jha talks to Tellychakkar on her exit from Balika Vadhu

Sriti Jha
Sriti Jha’s exit from Sphere Origins’ Balika Vadhu did come as a shock to one and all when Tellychakkar.com broke the new first thing in the morning today (1 November 2013). A lot of Sriti’s fans wanted to know her version of the story hence; we contacted the lady and spoke to her at length. “Yes, I have moved out of the show and 30th October 2013 was my last day of shoot,” stated the lady. Were the media reports of you being unhappy with the track true? “I did not opt out because I was unhappy. This was my third show with Sphere Origins and honestly I wanted to move on with my career. The production house understood and respected my concern and also told me what they wanted from me, which was of course, wanting me to stay back in the show. But then I had to move on.” The buzz has been around for quite some time now of her quitting the show. But she kept denying it. Reason? “You guys (Tellychakkar.com) reported it first and I kept denying because of professional obligations. Moreover I did not want it to become news but now that I have moved out of the project, I thought I must talk about it.” What about you being unhappy with the track? “It would be unfair on my part to say that I was unhappy with anything as it was my decision to be on the show and move out of it. So, I cannot blame unhappiness onto anyone. I moved out as I wanted to do solo lead shows.” When asked if she has bagged any; she promptly replied, “I think I’ll start looking out for work post Diwali.” So does she have a role on mind? “You don’t really get to chose roles according your preferences. You chose from what you’re offered. But I don’t have a particular thing on mind as that would be limiting things for me.” Getting back to her current decision… we asked if she felt her choice of taking up the show in the first place was wrong according to her to which she said, “It wasn’t a wrong decision. It’s just that right things happen at right time. I had never played a rural character and that’s when Ganga happened. I played the character and thoroughly enjoyed it.” Unfortunately Sriti moves out of the show just before her romantic scenes with Shashank Vyas (Jagya). “For me Ganga and Jagya coming together (getting married) itself was a happy ending. Now the story will have a new start with Sargun (Mehta) as Ganga.” Will Sargun do justice to the role according to you? “Absolutely and I’d like to tell my fans that they should keep watching Balika Vadhu because the story of Ganga will stay intact. We as actors do our job and we definitely work very hard but content is the real hero. So, I will continue watching the show and you’ll keep loving it too.” We wish you luck with your new journey Sriti!!!
