The Uttarakhand tragedy has got everyone from our country worried for the thousands stuck in the flood areas. The TV industry is also doing its bit to support the grieved souls.

Yesterday, we wrote about Colors’ noble efforts to support the relief operations. Star Network too has joined the campaign to spread a blanket of peace and succour in the tragedy stricken region.

The Network has come together with Goonj, the relief foundation for the flood victims. With around 30 channels in their wings, the popular network is confident of informing one and all about this support operation and helping the grief stricken people in Uttarakhand.

The network that reaches more than 600 million viewers every week is promoting the operation through all their national and regional channels. Two promotional videos are going up every hour to plead the people to donate for the relief fund. Regular updates through scrolls are also being seen on the Star Network’s channels.

The leading actors of the popular shows Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyara, Saath Nibhana Saathiya and Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus, Amrit Manthan, Do Dil Ek Jaan and Savdhan India on Life OK, Devyani on Star Pravah and Jol Nupur and Maa on Star Jalsha will seen in the promo videos.

The popular Karan Mehra (Naitik of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai) said, “I think such activities are very important at the moment. Since it is impossible to reach the place physically, we can donate money, food, clothing or any relief materials through this project. TV has a wide range, and I am really hopeful that through our videos the people suffering there will get some reprieve.”

We have to stand strong at this hour of disaster and help the people overcome it soon.
