Remember the astounding bike sequences by John Abraham in Dhoom or Hrithik Roshan's unbelievable stunts in Mission Kashmir? We never stop to think how our heroes come out of them unscathed. They definitely do, but not the same can be said about the stuntmen who risk their lives for our 'heroes.' UTV in collaboration with National Geographic Channel will now showcase the sweat and toil of these men in its documentary Stuntmen of Bollywood.

It is a part of 12 part series called, "It Happens Only in India," that deals with the lives of stuntmen. The series in totality, will take a sneak peek in the life of the people behind the scenes.

This show is undeniably one of its kind as it projects the reality of the actual hero's, but there has been a show termed as Seven Deadly Arts with Akshay Kumar on NGC itself which manifested different forms of stunts by the actor.

"It took us six months for the research to get ample information about the stuntmen and another year as we met over 800 stuntmen from all over Maharashtra and Chennai where the industry is based," says vice resident, television content, UTV, Monisha Singh, who is tightlipped about the rest of episodes.

It certainly seems to us that they must be provided with extreme safety measures and will be paid a bomb for their tough task, but it is not so. Assistant of Rashid Mehta, president of the Stuntmen Association of Mumbai said that, "talking about the pay of these hard workers, it was never good as to what they deserve. Recently it has increased by 25%. And when it comes to the safety nets, only the big budget movies pay well, or else movies which have a budget of neither 3 to 4 crores don't pay well nor do they provide appropriate safety measures."

With an evocative voiceover, and a touching background score, the documentary moves through the life of different stuntmen who risk their life for their survival, and for our pleasure! This show can be seen on Sunday, 18 September on NGC. Expectantly we get to spot a 'not to imitate any of the stunts' before the show begins!
