Shilpa Shirodkar, who essays the central role of Kamla Tai in Zee TV’s Ek Mutthi Aasman, is simply at ease when it comes to delivering her power-packed dialogues and emoting on-screen.

However, the dutiful actress recently had a tough time controlling her emotions off the screen after shooting a particular sequence where she had to slap her on-screen daughter Kalpana, played by little girl Mehnaaz Mann.

Wondering about the reason? Well, a reliable source who was witness to this sequence told us that the scene required Shilpa to slap the girl. And when the camera rolled, Shilpa instead of pretending to slap her ended up patting (note the word) the girl on her cheek. Though the shot came out well, Shilpa burst into tears immediately after shooting the scene.

The source tells us that Shilpa felt that she should not even have touched the girl’s cheek while enacting the sequence. She felt bad about the fact that she placed her hand on Mehnaaz’ cheeks. She went on an apologizing spree soon after this, wherein she expressed her thoughts to Mehnaaz.

However, Mehnaaz was very cool about the incident as she did not feel that Shilpa had hurt her. But the motherly instinct in Shilpa got shaken, so much so that they had to give her time of about 30-45 minutes to get back to terms and resume shoot. In between, Shilpa even apologized to the parents of Mehnaaz who were present on the sets.

Aah, this speaks volumes of the soft-nature that Shilpa has.

All we can say is that take it easy, Shilpa…
