Remember Tejaswini Lonari? The pretty girl, who played the lead role in Nitin Desai's magnum opus Rani Padmini? Though the serial did not stand the test of time, Tejaswini did leave a mark. A couple of months ago, TellyChakkar had reported about Tejaswini looking for work in films. And so the latest is she has been signed up for a Marathi film opposite Makarand Anaspure.

Confirming the news, the actress says, “I am starting work on it next month. My mother is producing it and the film was under planning for two years. When Rani Padmini got over, I expressed my desire to work in films and she asked me if I wanted to act in her film. I needed some time to prepare myself and then I agreed."

About the film, she says, “It is a simple story. The film is about what happens when a modern, fashionable girl gets married to a village boy played by Makrand. The message we are trying to give is a mismatched marriage does not always end into a divorce or separation. You can work things out. We are planning to shoot the film in the interiors of Maharashtra."

The director of the film is still being decided, but Tejaswini seems to be all ready for the big plunge.
