MUMBAI: Actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee, who's popularly remembered for portraying 'Gopi Modi' in the television drama series Saath Nibhaana Saathiya says she is fond of Christmas cake. 

She expressed, "There is a special charm of a Christmas celebration for me which just doesn't change, especially the traditional Christmas cake. Christmas fruit cake is my favourite! A Christmas celebration isn't complete without this classic treat on the table. At first glance, making this may look complicated because it seems like a lot of ingredients, but it's actually very easy. The secret is to prepare and weigh all the ingredients, and line the tin before you start any mixing. The assembly is straightforward. The rest is an exercise in patience. Since childhood, I'm fond of baking a cake. I use to watch my mom doing it and today I have learned it all. My mom's recipe is something I tweak at times with my experiments.".

Talking about her childhood memories, the Bigg Boss 13 actor says, "On Christmas, I remember during childhood I use to ask my mom to use lots of cherries in the cake. I remember me and my friends used to make Santa caps and decorate our Christmas tree with lots of decorative items. We used to collect small balls, matchboxes and use Diwali lights. It used to be so much fun. We celebrated Christmas by visiting the church and a party in the evening. We played games, there used to be music and dance and of course Christmas cuisine. I really miss those days.".

Devoleena has also featured in TV shows like Dance India Dance 2 and Sawaare Sabke Sapne Preeto.
