The audience HATES Vanraj in Star Plus’ Anupamaa!

Here’s what they have to say…

MUMBAI: For any show to become a superhit, there are various elements which need to work and one of them is the role of an antagonist. The antagonist need not be out and out negative; it can be grey shaded too.

Star Plus show Anupamaa is high on drama. It is an unconventional concept.

Anupamaa is a remake of his ongoing Marathi show, Aai Kuthe Kay Karte. The show will star talented actor Rupali Ganguly and Sudhanshu Pandey in the lead roles. As per the storyline, homemaker Anupamaa has dedicated her life for her family but she doesn't get valued for it. She is always taken for granted. However, she tries to be happy despite not being appreciated.

Well, Sudhanshu plays the role of Anupamaa’s husband, Vanraj and looks like his character portrayal is so strong that the audience hates him!

Here’s what they had to say:

Atul Thakkar said, “Vanraj is unbearable. Talks of trust but is betraying his wife in the worst way possible. He makes my skin crawl every time he is on screen.  Yes, hope Anupama stands up for herself soon. Maybe after she takes the job at school and becomes financially independent. “

Jyotsna Vadhan expressed, “Some of the scenes made me cringe that's because it is also a true reflection of the society. It is very easy for people to say 'Hey we are living in 2020 etc…’ but this show depicts the fact that even in this day and age we take a lot for granted.”

Disha Thakkar commented, “Housewife plays a vital role in every family. But no one appreciates this fact. Vanraj is embarrassed as his wife doesn't know English, but he is forgetting that it is only because of Anupamaa that his house is home.”

Clearly, Sudhanshu is doing a brilliant job as Vanraj!
