The day I shared Amitabh Bachchan's green room

A page from the personal diary of Indresh Malik Television is a medium which has something for everyone, be it a hero or a villain. For me it has given me name, fame and money. But nothing can match the experience I got while shooting for a promo of Kaun Banega Crorepati 4 with Amitabh Bachchan. In the promo I play a common man while Mr Bachchan asks me questions. I had heard a lot about his humility and how he makes others comfortable on the sets, but never did I expect what I experienced. On the day of the shoot, he came up to me while I was getting my make up done and introduced himself as Amitabh Bachchan! This was completely unexpected from a person of his stature. My first reaction was that of embarrassment. No matter how much you hear from others you still cannot believe that someone of his stature can actually do this! It was even more surprising when he mentioned he knew about our show 12/24 Karol Bagh. We started chatting with each other and he was visibly happy when I told him I studied in Kirorimal College. He had studied there too. He even allowed me to use his green room – something unthinkable from a legend like him. I think he is by far the most modest man I have ever met. I also mentioned I had got the New Talent Award this year and I had met his son then. He remembered the function and congratulated me. During the shoot there were people who wanted his autograph. When they saw me next to him, they recognized me as well and came up to me for my autograph too. It was an extremely gratifying feeling and I will never be able to get over it. I will always cherish those memories.
