MUMBAI: Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey have both been powerhouse of talent when it comes to acting. The two have independently carved a niche for themselves. While Sargun has done some excellent work in Punjabi films along with television shows, Ravi has won hearts with his terrific performances in television shows, web series and Bollywood films. Now the creative duo are entering a new territory as they turn producers with their show Udaariyaan on COLORS.

A heartening tale of hopes and dreams of a family from the heartland of Punjab, Udaariyaan is about the Sandhu family who have dreamed from generations of migrating to Canada. Finally, the weight of these dreams lies on the daughters of the family Jasmine (played by Isha Malviya) and Tejo (played by Priyanka Chaudhary) to fulfil it. There’s also Fateh (played by Ankit Gupta), who will have a key role to play in how Jasmin and Tejo fulfill their ambition. Udaariyaan is all about how these amazing characters go about the journey on fulfilling their dreams, and in what manner will their hopes take flight!

Commenting on this Sargun said, “There comes a point in every creative person’s life when they want to venture into newer, more exciting avenues. This was my point when I wanted to try my hands at producing a television show. I had an idea in my mind, which I felt could translate beautifully on screen, and I discussed it with Ravi who supported me completely. Every inch of my being believed in Udaariyaan. I believed in my idea, my characters, and their stories and approached COLORS with the concept and they loved it. With Udaariyaan, I felt like I owe it to my audience to give them a glimpse of this amazing new world and introduce some brilliant characters to them. I hope people will love it as this is truly a labour of perseverance and of love!”.

Commenting on this Ravi said, “The television industry has given us so much. We have spent 15 long years in the industry and have been a part of many stories.
