Time has gone when women would shy away from flaunting their baby bump: Sukirti Kandpal

Actress Sukirti Kandpal talks about her new show Story 9 Months Ki.

MUMBAI: Actress Sukirti Kandpal is known for her stint in Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani, Dill Mill Gayye, Dilli Wali Thakur Gurls. She had also participated in the reality show Bigg Boss season 8.

The actress made her comeback with Sony TV’s show based on IVF, titled Story 9 Months Ki.

In a chat with TellyChakkar the actress spoke in brief on taking up the project and more. She shared, “The show is written very passionately. I really liked the way the character of Aliya has been penned down. She is a very strong and independent girl. I think the character of Aliya is relatable to today’s girls including me.”

Did you have a conscious decision to not choose kitchen drama? “There was no conscious decision as such but I am choosy when it comes to selecting shows and the kind of roles I want to play on-screen. But having said that it doesn’t mean I am against the idea of doing kitchen politics. This show was supposed to be launched beginning of this year but due to pandemic it got postponed hence even my comeback got delayed.”

On the flaunting baby bump in the show, she shared, “In today’s time when you open Instagram you see so many actresses like Kareena Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and others flaunting baby bumps with so much ease and class. Time has gone when women would shy away from flaunting a baby bump. Actress like Kylie Jenner became a mother at a young age so choosing to become a mother is no more restricted to age now. Also, girls these days are free enough to make their own choices.”

We totally agree!

Story 9 Months Ki produced by Rangrez Television Works. It stars Aashay Mishra opposite Sukirti.
