Dance, they say is the hidden language of the soul. When words fail, dance communicates. Now, for the first time ever in the salsa fraternity, an event presenting the students (of salsa) in the biggest possible light will take place today.

Vineet Bangera’s Dance Central’s annual show featuring students of diversified ages, starting from as young as 17 years to 75 years will showcase their journey by telling a story through a spectacular way comprising of various dance forms such as salsa, bachata, ruetta, hip hop and Bollywood.

Trained and mentored under Vineet Bangera, who has been a renowned trainer and teacher for 15 years now, people should expect a spectacle when the students of Dance Central perform at Veer Sawarkar, Rashtriya Smarak, Opp. Shivaji Park, Dadar at 5.30 PM and 8.30 PM tonight, 19 February.

Tellychakkar.com talked to the man responsible for guiding the students to this extravagant event, Vineet Bangera who has travelled all around the world and has been instrumental in putting India on the dance map. “This event ‘Bring It On’ is unique as such an event has not been put in place ever in the salsa fraternity. A bunch of 40 of our students will be performing in this 90 minutes performance on stage. The students have gone through a lot of challenges in putting their best foot forward for the event. While all the students will perform on various dance forms, Amit Dolawat and Smiley Suri, our senior students will perform senior routines, which will be the highlight routine of the event.”

Bring It On’ – the title coined for the event aptly represents the various challenges the performers have encountered and have put in their sweat and blood to bring this event to the audience.

Says Vineet, “The title Bring It On was coined by our student and dear friend Smiley Surie who suggested that this very clearly expressed the attitude of students.”

Dance Central’s ‘Bring It On’ will host two shows tonight, one at 5.30 PM and the other at 8.30 PM. Each of the shows will accommodate close to 500 people. And as Vineet states, “We are almost near to houseful. Our second show is houseful while for the first to take place at 5.30 PM, is very near to houseful. We hope audience have an enjoyable time.”

Smiley says, “I am basically doing this event for Vineet who has given me a second lease of life with Dance Central. He is a great teacher and mentor, and I happened to meet him when I was in a low phase of my life. I have learnt so much from him, in his extremely professional school. Salsa is not an art form to pick up easily, and for me this dance form has been therapeutic too. This performance will be a return gift to my teacher Vineet.”

Actor Amit Dolawat who will be presenting the highlight routine of the event along with Smiley says, “After getting trained in ball room dancing for four years, I have been with Vineet for one and half years now, learning the nuances of salsa. He has been a great teacher and mentor, and it is now payback time, as we are doing this event for him. Smiley and I will be performing on Madonna’s most popular and controversial number ‘Vogue’. We have distinct make-up and look for the same.”

We wish the event a grand success!!!
