Tujhse Hai Raabta’s Sehban Azim shares what he learnt from Karan Wahi

MUMBAI : With the lockdown gradually lifting and people across the country stepping out into the new normal, Zee TV resumed shoots of its shows and reconnected its audiences with the journeys of their beloved characters from 13th July. With shoots resuming, the crew as well as the cast members of each and every show were seen observing strict protocols during show production. The coronavirus pandemic is still looming large and hence, everyone has been limiting physical contact, wearing masks and PPE kits and sanitising each and everything.

Amidst the new normal, most of the actors have adapted to the new working style of relying on the least number of staff, getting ready independently, doing their own hair and make-up but some of them always preferred doing their own make-up instinctively, so the transition to 'atmanirbharta' has been even more organic for them. And our beloved, Malhar Ji (Sehban Azim) of Tujhse Hai Raabta, has been acing the art of makeup independently for a while now. He prefers doing his own make-up on set. He said, “I have always been self-dependent so adapting to the new normal has been the easiest for me. I use my morning time, to get ready as well as rehearse my lines and this helps keep me in my character through the day.”

But did you know, that he drew inspiration to do it by himself from his close friend Karan Wahi? In fact, he eventually ended up learning how to do his own makeup from his close friend and makeup artist, Aditi Mehta. Karan and Sehban, both, prefer to do their own make up and never ask for anyone's help, unless  they go for award functions. Clearly, they were prepared for the new normal a decade ago.

Sehban adds, “I love doing my own make-up and hair on set and I give all the credit to my dear friend Karan Wahi. The first time I saw someone doing his own make-up on set, it was Karan and I was amused and in awe of what I just witnessed because he did such a splendid job at doing his own make-up. The thing with me is, I love learning new things, so I asked him and our common friend, Aditi Mehta to teach me. I was what they call a make-up noob and I owe all my make-up skills to both of them. Karan inspired me and she taught me how to do my own make-up and it has been a decade since that I do my own make-up. But, I’ll have to admit that I haven’t yet honed the skills of a proper make-up artist and I do need their artistic abilities to make me look good whenever I have to attend important affairs like award shows.”

While Sehban might have surprised you with his candid confession, wait till you see the twists and turns in Malhar's life in Tujhse Hai Raabta in the coming few weeks.

To watch Sehban Azim as ACP Malhar Rane tune in to Tujhse Hai Raabta every Monday to Friday at 8.30 pm, only on Zee TV
