TV industry is a tough place to survive: Sanjay Kaushik

Sanjay Kaushik

Sanjay Kaushik, a youngster from Chandigarh moved to Mumbai two years back, to start his journey as an actor. What followed was a life of struggle and difficulties. But episodics revived his career and today he is confident about making a name for himself in the industry.

Talking about his journey, Sanjay shared, “I was into theatres for three years and have been part of a lot of festivals. But Mumbai being the hub of all aspiring actors, I too packed my bags and moved to the city, only to see a different side. TV industry is a really tough place to survive. All I saw was rejection and dejection.”

“I would be confirmed for roles, even sign contracts but at the last moment something or the other would wreak havoc with my plans. This has happened over 15-20 times. Either the tracks would get postponed or I would be replaced. To be honest, I had really lost hope. Thankfully, I managed to get some episodic and got in the business,” said Sanjay.

When asked what kept him going, the actor replied, "Firstly, it was my passion. Secondly my parents had been great support and gave me the strength to continue chasing my dreams. There have been few people in the city who gave me chances and today I have managed to appear in some wonderful shows like Yeh Hai Aashiqui, MTV Webbed and Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya.”

And finally, talking about his future plans, Sanjay quipped, “To be honest, I still have a long way to go. I am giving my hundred per cent each day to bring out the best in me. Hopefully, I will bag a lead in a good TV show soon."

Wish you all the best, boy!
