MUMBAI: Kajal Pisal is back on the small screen in a glamourous role. She is seen playing the role of Ketaki Aneja in the show Durga - Mata Ki Chhaya and often gives a sneak peek of her looks from the show on her social media handle. The actress is mom to a 12-year-old daughter Sara and believes that motherhood has never overpowered her choice of roles and projects.
“Since I started my acting career, I’ve always been very clear that I would portray roles that will push me to work hard on my craft. Motherhood has never overshadowed my choices of roles. However, there have been certain kinds of roles and scenes from which I’ve always steered clear even before becoming a mother and still do," she said.
“While actresses like Kareena Kapoor Khan and Vidya Balan who are above 35 are getting to play challenging and lead roles on the big screen, unfortunately, age matters for TV actresses,” says Kajal. She adds, “I think it is time that this mindset changes in our industry as even today unfortunately women over 30 are convinced to play the role of a mother to an actor of her age. Today every actor is not just working hard on their craft but is fitness conscious as well. They are working hard to stay and look fit. I think it’s time this mindset changes.”
