Savitri (the tale of the modern day’s Savitri) will be the next big-ticket fiction show to be launched on Life OK. Scheduled to launch in mid-February 2013, the unit of Savitri is all set to take-off for an extensive outdoor schedule in Kolkata. We hear that the shoot at Kolkata will commence from 26 January and will be studded with quite a lot of stunt and action sequences. The idea is to shoot at real-life locations in Kolkata and capture the unique beauty. Savitri has Ridhi Dogra, Yash Pandit and Angad Hasija in the main cast. Savitri is being produced by Flying Turtle Films, founded by actor Shabbir Ahluwalia and his friends Saket Sawhney and Anil V Kumar. The show is being directed by Anil V Kumar. For the uninitiated, Anil V Kumar was the one who developed majority of the popular K-series shows Kahiin Toh Hoga, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kkusum, to name a few. Of course Shabbir needs no introduction, as his extensive work in TV and Bollywood speaks for the man. This will be Flying Turtle Films’ second project on the small screen as producers, after Ganga Ki Dheej on Sahara One. Flying Turtle Films is also presently producing the remake of Zanjeer along with Reliance Entertainment and Amit Mehra. We tried calling the producers, but could not connect to them.
