MUMBAI: During the early 2000s, almost every Indian was glued to their TV screens at 8:30 PM to watch Kasautii Zindagii Kay. The show’s main characters Anurag and Prerna, which were played by Cezanne Khan and Shweta Tiwari, became household names and the story became the story of the audiences. The viewers were so attached to the characters that they walked along with them in their love story. And whenever Komolika tried to interfere with the Anurag and Prerna, audiences also became upset.

Ekta Kapoor is back with her iconic show but in a different avatar. The reboot aired yesterday and was well received by the audience and fans of the show. Erica Fernandes and Parth Samthaan wrote about it on various social media sites. Ekta left her fans curious with who will play Komolika's role in the new season. In the recent promo, Ekta teased the audience by showing Komolika but didn't reveal her face.

There were many media reports doing the rounds that Hina Khan would be playing the role of Komolika, but there was no confirmation. Now, the original Komolika, played by Urvashi Dholakia, has confirmed Hina Khan to be the new Komolika.

While talking to a leading publication, Urvashi was asked about her views on Hina playing Komolika and she said that similar to how Ekta invested faith in her 18 years ago, she is showing faith in Hina. She also further stated that Ekta has an eye for detail: ‘Ekta has an eye for performers. Like she extracted what she wanted from me, I am sure she will extract it from Hina too. The baton has been passed and I wish Hina good luck in all honesty.’
