MUMBAI: Sony TV’s upcoming Chandragupta Maurya (Swastik Productions) has become the talk of the town since it will be a one-of-its-kind continuation show to Porus. The link between both the shows will be Chanakya. Producers have decided to rope in Tarun Khanna to portray the character of Chanakya in the show. Mytho king Saurabh Raj Jain is rumoured to play an important role too.

Chandragupta Maurya will reportedly be launched on 12 November at the same time slot as Porus, which will end on 9 November.

The latest buzz is that actor Vikas Verma has been finalized to play an important role in the show.

We contacted Vikas, who confirmed the news and said, ‘Yes. I am doing the show as a negative character of Seleucus, who is a rude and arrogant ruler. I’m excited to play this character because until now, I’ve played negative characters with flamboyance and charm, but this one is going to be a very dramatic and authoritative character.’

We asked him about his preparation for the character. He laughed and said, ‘I already know sword-fighting and horse-riding…. I am prepared for the show.’

Here’s wishing the cast and crew good luck!
