MUMBAI: This Monday as we celebrate World Dance Day across globe, dancer, choreographer & actor, Sanam Johar who's currently winning hearts in a kids dance reality show as a Guru & recently performed despite sustaining injuries after a fall.
Sanam who started out as a dancer first participating in a reality show fetched a massive fan following soon after & appeared on a celebrity couple dance reality show Nach Baliye with his girlfriend Abigail Pandey.
This World dance day, the actor walks down the memory lane & reminisces about the time when the most sough after choreographer in the country Shiamak Davar took his notice, 'When I was in Dance India Dance, Shiamak Sir who I'd never met earlier in my life called up Remo Sir appreciating me & also joked about how he would leave choreography if I didn't win the title trophy. It was this gesture of his & confidence in me that gave me a lot of strength. Whenever I start doubting myself, I remember these words & I'm back on my feet.'
Sharing how his dance journey began & took shape, he shares, 'When I was young, around 8 years old, My parents came to my school for a PTA & had an interesting chat with my dance teacher, Daniel Sir. He asked my parents to never stop me from dancing because he saw what others didn't. Ever since that meeting, my parents have always supported me & that has helped me get this far.'
