World Environment Day: Actors open up on respecting our Mother Nature

MUMBAI: Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, people have been facing a lot of turmoil since last year. Just like 2020, the year 2021 has hit us the core. The pandemic has taught us the biggest lesson that is ‘To Protect Our Environment’. Every year of 5th June, World Environment Day is being celebrated. It’s a day to contribute towards our Mother Nature and bring positive changes in the environment. Our favourite television celebrities open up on respecting nature and their ways to protect it.

Actor Rajat Verma

I have a tiny kitchen garden at my hometown where we do playing as planting is like a therapy for all of us . I  try to avoid plastic things as much as I can and  switched to cloth bags for essentials shopping. Apart from this, whenever I go out to eat something, I always ensure to not use plastic spoons or anything made of plastic. Reviving our damaged ecosystem is the need of the hour so that we can enhance our livelihood.

Actor Jagnoor Aneja

My love for nature was sparked when I was in school. Since then I have a habit of planting trees. I also have a very small kitchen garden where I have planted various kind of trees including Mirchi ka podha, Curry Patta ka podha etc. But planting trees doesn’t solve our problem. What matter is how we nurture them.  All my plants are my babies and I have given names to them as well. I think, we all should do that to develop an emotional bond.

Actor Manish Verma

It’s high time for all of us to take lessons from past and contribute towards a sustainable future. We all should plant more and more trees, say no to plastic and use reusable things. Instead of taking our mother nature for granted and do such things that harms our environment, we all should take a pledge to protect and nurture it.

Actress Aarti Vij

This year theme ‘Ecosystem Restoration’ is really meaningful. We all should contribute towards it because our survival depends on a healthy ecosystem only. There was a small barren land near my house, which I converted into a tiny garden. I have planted many variety of plants and flower pots there.
I would like to urge everyone to please do their effort for our environment. It's time to respect and acknowledge everything that the environment has given mankind. Our future will be good only if our environment will be healthy
