Mallika is seen as Sharda on the show and is portraying the role of Rudraksh's mother.

In an exclusive interview with TellyChakkar, Mallika got candid about her character in Yeh Hai Chahatein.
When asked what changes she wants to see in her character Sharda, to which, she said, ''I want Sharda to modernise a bit. I feel that the makers should show another side of Sharda where she is taking over the financial property or she is handling the business problems. Sharda has changed a lot but she is still inside the four walls of the house. My character has witnessed various shades but one thing my character has not witnessed yet is stepping out of the house and having her identity of her own.''
Well, we are sure that the viewers would definitely love to see Sharda turning into an independent woman who can also be a loving mother, mother-in-law and take over the business.
