MUMBAI:   Indian Television serials that have been running since a long time have influenced the audience. Now, the audience cannot get over such serials and afford to miss a single episode. Everything about the show becomes an essential part for the audience and the actors who play their characters become a household name.

In such situations, it is always a risky move for the creators of the show to replace an actor and give that character to someone else. It becomes a heavy task even for one actor to replace another as the character comes with a lot of expectations.

Today, as the year 2022 is slowly coming to an end, we are going to list some actors who got replaced by other actors.

1.     Dheeraj Dhoopar replaced by Shakti Arora in Kundali Bhagya (Zee TV)

Zee TV’s show Kundali Bhagya is produced by Balaji Telefilms. It stars Shakti Arora, Shraddha Arya and Manit Joura and is one of the favourite shows of the audience. The amazing storyline and gripping performance have always drawn viewers to the show. The current track revolves around the dirty politics of Anjali against Karan and Preeta.

The audience is still in love with Preeta-Karan (Dheeraj Dhoopar)’s lovely and intense chemistry. No doubt, Dheera played the role really well but for some reason he had to leave the show. Welcome Shakti Arora, who became the new Karan or should we say Arjun. The audience surely misses Dheeraj Dhoopar but at the same time, they also appreciate Shakti Arora’s performance as they realize that nobody could’ve been better casted for such a character. Looks like the viewers are happy with this replacement.

2.     Shailesh Lodha replaced by Sachin Shroff in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (Sony SAB)

Sony Sab’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is a hilarious serial that has grabbed the attention of audiences with it’s funny drama. The serial has been one of the longest running serials and the viewers still want to see more.

The show has become such an important part of people’s lives that we can witness a lot of viewers, with no regards to their age, watching this show on a loop for a whole day and still not getting bored. It’s the longest running sitcom on Indian television and every character of the show is vital, not just for the story but also for the audience. However, since it’s such a long running show, it has seen certain phases of changes and that includes actors being replaced. This year, one of the most important characters replaced was Shailesh Lodha who was playing the role of Taarak Mehta. He was replaced by Sachin Shroff and we must say it’s a huge responsibility to fulfil for Sachin. Yes, Sachin is doing a good job but he cannot stop people from going down the memory lane and remember Shailesh Lodha. Talking about replacing, it was reported that Shailesh had differences with the creative team of the show and hence he decided to leave.

3.     Paras Kalnawat replaced by Sagar Parekh in Anupamaa (Star Plus)

Anupamaa is presently ruling our television screens. The show is doing exceptionally well and is topping the weekly BARC ratings. Rupali Ganguly plays the lead role while Gaurav Khanna plays the role of her husband Anuj. These days, the track revolves around Anupamaa and Anuj's post-marriage life. Currently, the show revolves around Pakhi and Adhik’s marriage struggles.

Anupama has really become a big part of households and people watch the show religiously. The character of Anupama has indeed become an ideal mother in the eyes of the viewers. When it comes to an ideal son, Samar’s name is sure to come up and every time someone mentions him, Paras Kalnawat’s image is sure to come to your head. Well, that’s the effect he has left on the mind of the viewers. Paras Kalnawat was replaced by Sagar Parekh due to some differences between the actor and the producers. The change was too sudden and the viewers took some time to get over it. Finally, Sagar is appreciated for the hard work that he’s been putting in to justify the character.

4.     Yamini Malhotra replaced by Tanvi Thakkar in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin (Star Plus)

Star Plus’ Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin has been doing amazingly well in BARC ratings. The story between Sai and Virat has kept the fans of the show intrigued from the beginning and are loving Pakhi’s character change. The lead roles are played by Neil Bhatt, Ayesha Singh and Aishwarya Sharma and they do complete justice to their characters. The fan base of the show is filled with fans either supporting Virakhi or Sairat.

The show is filled with some very intriguing twists and turns and the audience cannot get over it what-so-ever. Every character in the show has an important role to play and they are very relatable too. Same goes for the character of Shivani Chavan that was played by Yamini Malhotra. Later, Yamini was replaced by Tanvi Thakkar. Sure enough, Tanvi took her job seriously and pulled-off the character really well. Currently, the character is not getting as much of screen time as it used to earlier.

5.     Gashmeer Mahajani replaced by Manasvi Vashist in Imlie season 1 (Star Plus)

Imlie is one of the top shows and is always doing well with the ratings. The show took a huge turn post the leap and Imlie and Chini are now all grown up. Megha Chakraborty and Seerat Kapoor play the leads with Karan Vohra. The current track is about Chini’s evil plans against Rudra.

The new age characters in season 2 have really impressed the audience. However, the influence of the first season has still not really worn out. One can still see season 1 scenes doing rounds on the social media. One of the most important characters of the show at that time was Aditya, who was played by Gashmeer Mahajani but was later replaced by Manasvi Vashist. Gashmeer Mahajani had pulled-off the character like no other and it only made the job tough for Manasvi to fill his shoes. Gashmeer’s influence was not something the viewers could get over from and there were twists involved in the show, according to which the character ended.
