MUMBAI: Veteran television actress Ashita Dhawan, a familiar face in Indian households, has been gracing the small screen for over two decades. Known for her memorable roles in hit series such as Sapna Babul Ka... Bidaai, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, and the supernatural drama Naagin 6, Ashita has carved a niche for herself in the entertainment industry.
In an exclusive chat with TellyChakkar, the actress shared her candid thoughts on the growing speculation surrounding the cancellation of two of India’s most beloved reality shows – Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi – this year.

There’s been quite a buzz about Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi not airing this year. What’s your take on it?
To be honest, I find it very hard to believe. It doesn’t sit right with me at all. These shows are massive – they’ve become household names and are hugely significant for the channels airing them. Scrapping them just like that? It doesn’t sound feasible. I honestly feel this is all just a promotional stunt. There’s too much at stake financially and emotionally both for the broadcasters and the audience. I’m quite certain they’ll figure something out and the shows will return. They’re far too loved to disappear just like that.
Q: Have you ever been approached to participate in either of the shows? Would you consider taking part in the future?
Yes, actually, I have quite a few friends who’ve been a part of Bigg Boss. Karanveer, for instance, is a dear friend and he’s done incredibly well on the show. As for me, if an offer does come along, I’ll give it some serious thought when the time comes. I’ve never ruled it out entirely, but it would depend on a lot of things. Let’s see what the future holds!
While fans anxiously await official word, the entertainment world is abuzz with speculation. With no formal announcement confirming the cancellation, loyal viewers remain hopeful that both Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi will make their much-anticipated return.
