Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain to educate masses on juvenile diabetes

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain
The family drama Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain (Directors’ Kut) on Star Plus has always highlighted important issues through their tracks and currently the show has taken up the subject of juvenile diabetes. The young boy Naksh (Shivansh Kotia) has been diagnosed with diabetes that has led him to have a life full of restrictions. The boy who has been a football champ has been asked to take it easy in terms of physical activities and his diet has been controlled too. We decided to speak to Karan Mehra who plays Naitik in the show about the current track. “We will in the process of the show bring out the details of this disease and show what kids who have diabetes face. And not just the kids but also their parents have to go through a lot and our show will bring out every minute detailing on the same,” shared the actor. Karan further added, “It is a very difficult track for as actors we too have to understand and adapt to the mood and problems of the parents of a child who is suffering from this disease. To relate to the helplessness and concern is surely a tough task at the moment.” But for viewers, it surely is a learning experience and it is the same for the actors as he said, “Most definitely, for we tend to know more about such things as we proceed with our track. Also I made it a point to read more about it to know exactly what goes through these children. I got to know that 10 per cent of children have the disease, so you can imagine how common the disease is. This is our chance to educate viewers about it.” Karan is all praise about the show encompassing important subjects in their show. “We have passed on very important social messages through our show, presented the various festivals with full pomp and also played all the sports that we could. I feel this is the reason why our show has managed to stand the test of time,” he concluded. Great work, team Yeh Rishta…!
