MUMBAI: Shubham Dipta is a well known actor of the television industry.

He gained fame with the serial Do Chuti Sindoor and currently he is seen in the serial 'Mangal Lakshmi' where he essays the role of Kartik Nigam.

The show 'Mangal Lakshmi' is doing exceptionally well and has gained good TRPs and is among the top ten shows.

TellyChakkar got in touch with the actor and asked him what drove him in singing the project and how is the environment on the sets of the show.

What drove you to sign this new project was it the story, or your character?

In February I was shooting for my last scene of my previous show and that was the day I signed Magal Lakshmi and that's when my manager came to me and told me that my show is getting over. He said I can do another show and I agreed and gave the audition. Everything happened so quickly, on the 12th of February I did my last episode of my show and on the same night I travelled to Delhi to shoot for Magal Lakshmi. I guess it was destined to be and this character was written for me and only I had to do it.

What are the challenges you are facing in playing the character?

I am not facing any challenges in playing the character as I feel I have found a connection with myself. I look at similarities between Kartik and my real life, like Kartik is a singer and even I am a singer. I can relate to it as I have a love for music which I could show on screen.

Secondly, here it is shown how popular and famous he is and somewhere how my journey has been. As whatever I do I would like the audience to like me and despite being a big star at home he is very simple and doesn't behave like a star and that is only for work purposes.

He is very normal post his work and that is one more similarity. But only at the beginning it took me time to understand the director's vision but then you get into the groove.

How is the environment on the sets, how is your experience working with your co-actors and team?

The best part of this set is that it's very fresh and new and the co-actors are the best. We are like a family. It feels like home. Our lunch stories are very famous. We all try to have lunch together. There is a saying that people who eat together their love only increases. We are very supportive of each other and we all encourage everyone to perform well so that we can build a good show.

Well, there is no doubt that Shubham Dipta is loved as Kartik on the show and he has become a household name.
