MUMBAI : Akansha Ranjan Kapoor made her acting debut with the film Guilty which was released on Netflix. She was later seen in Netflix’s anthology, Ray, and currently, the actress is impressing everyone with her performance in Monica O My Darling which was released on the OTT platform a few days ago.

TellyChakkar interacted with Akansha recently and spoke to her about being the new Radhika Apte for Netflix, plans of doing masala entertainers and more…

Guilty, Ray, and Monica O My Darling are all three releases on Netflix; are you planning to be the new Radhika Apte?

I remember when Monica O My Darling was announced last year my comments were flooded with ‘new Radhika Apte’, ‘Radhika Apte part 2’, and I was like oh my god it’s true. So, hopefully, I don’t know.

You have mainly been a part of movies that are in a serious zone. So do you wish to do masala entertainers?

I am very grateful because I guess that (masala entertainers) will happen whenever it has to happen. But, right now I am focusing on getting performance pieces, trying to be taken as a serious actor, and trying to show directors that I am here for the right reasons, I want to act, and I am good at my job. I want to do good subjects, good stories, and performance-oriented roles.

All your films have been released on OTT, but we are sure you would like to see yourself on the big screen as well…

100 percent why not, everybody dreams of that, and as I said I am grateful for where I am. I am grateful for OTT, and everything I have got is because of OTT. But, who doesn’t want to see themselves in a packed theatre and people clapping for you; it’s exciting. But, I am grateful for where I am for sure.
