MUMBAI: Samir Soni is a very popular face in the industry. He is known for playing the negative or grey characters in films. The actor is all set to be a part of the upcoming web series Anamika, where he will be sharing the screen with Sunny Leone. Having said that, today let us see what he has to say about the web series and more.

Team TellyChakkar got an exclusive chance to interact with the actor where he spoke about the web series Anamika. He spoke about his character, what made him say yes to the project, and his experience of working with director Vikram Bhatt.

Tell us about your character and the preparation you did for your character?

My character's name is Sameer Oberoi. He is a rich industrialist who deals in diamonds. Later he gets involved in the drugs mafia and the Indian intelligence has their eyes on him as they think he is up to something. And they plant agent M which is played by Sunny Leone to find out more about him. While finding out that they both fall in love and one fine day Sunny gets disappeared.  So on the one side, he is a very charming rich corporate person but behind closed doors, he is up to a lot of bad things. 

What made you say yes to the project?

Firstly the character is very interesting to what director Vikram Bhatt had in his mind. I have played many characters who have a corporate background. But what Vikram did in this web series was that this guy doesn't like rivals. So, here is a guy who has underworld and politician connections and he probably gets people killed. So he keeps saying that he doesn't like violence but keep doing one.   So, this kind of conflict within him what's liking what he is doing but has to do it. which I think was interesting to play on the screen. 

How was your experience of working with Vikram Bhatt?

I always wanted to work with Vikram Bhatt. I think he is such an easy-going person. because what the atmosphere is on the sets totally depends upon the director. He is always very calm and jovial. As a director, he is very encouraging and I love him for that. I am glad that I got an opportunity to work with him and also looking forward to working with him more in the future.

Anamika features Sunny Leone, Sonnalli Seygall, and a few others in pivotal roles. The web series is all set to be premiered on MX Player from 10th March 2022.
