Poacher Review: Dark side of wildlife, where humans are worse than animals, shown brilliantly

This series is for anyone who loves animal and also for those who are not so fond of wildlife as it shows the importance and value of life, even if it's not human.

MUMBAI: Poacher is an Amazon Prime series, directed by Richie Mehta stars actors like Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Roshan Mathew, Nimisha Sajayan, Renuka Purohit and many more. Interestingly, Alia Bhatt has turned a producer for this show. Poacher aims to spread awareness about how poaching is resulting in extinction of wildlife and that the forest and it's animals need to be saved. It is a crime investigation story wherein an forest officer makes a team and works from the shadows to catch the poacher and expose the whole racket.

When talking about the execution of the show, it is a docu-series that is shot like a real documentary and the screenplay will surely keep you hooked. The sequence of scenes and the chain of events from start to end of the series gives a slow burner effect that is sure to cook up something really good as it progresses. The BGM of the movie is subtle but impactful, becoming one of the major reasons of keeping you glued to the screen. Additionally, 'Animals' in different episodes in the end of various scenes builds up excitement and makes you realise how vast the forest life is and how important it is to save them. Be it interrogation scenes, poaching scenes, chase scenes or raid scenes, the writers and director has made sure to keep the focus on realism and the audience is surely going to love it.

Throughout the series, Dibyendu Bhattacharya who plays the character of Neel, a senior forest officer who prepares an urgent team with trustworthy officers who has to carry on the investigation under the shadows. Nimisha Sajayan who plays the character of Mala and Roshan Mathew who plays the character of Alan, raise the excitement levels with their performances. While the officers portrayed are responsible for carrying ahead our curiosity, the portrayal of poachers and the middlemen, played by Sooraj Pops, Kumaradas TN, Praveen T.J., Noorudheen Ali Ahmed and many more surely define their roles well and give a very satisfactory performances.

The series will keep you hooked by showing a good detailing of what happens internally and how the Poachers are perceived. It also informs about the chain of racket and how things show up on the surface. Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Nimisha Sajayan and Roshan Mathew give a heart-touching performance giving us a proper insight about the life of officers and what they are ready to sacrifice to save animals.

While the series comes with a great aim to spread awareness through an investigation case, what takes our focus off sometimes is the slow-speed of the series, even though it is done give a slow burner effect. 

This series is for anyone who loves animal and also for those who are not so fond of wildlife as it shows the importance and value of life, even if it's not human. It introduces us to a world that's overlooked or hidden. With every passing episode, Poacher brings you closer to human emotions towards wildlife. Team Tellychakkar gives this series a 4/5 rating.
