MUMBAI :Tanya Singh Bhatnagar has been a part of short films like Kati Patang, Unarranged, Chor Pakad, and others. She was also seen in a web series titled Poles Apart. Now, Tanya’s next project is the web series Unsorted which is directed by Rahul Bhatnagar who is also her husband.

TellyChakkar recently interacted with Tanya and spoke to her about her role in the web series, complicated relationships, and more…

Tell us something about your role in Unsorted

I’m playing Seher in Unsorted- a sophisticated career-oriented girl. Seher is that girl in everyone’s life who always knows what to do and is the reliable go-to person for all life-related problems. She is successful, confident, and emotionally mature. However, she was not always this way. Like other girls, she too was a bubbly, chirpy girl once who wished for the world. But lessons from some tragic experiences and some circumstances transformed her to finally become a strong (somewhat calculative), patient, and know-it-all kind of person.

When you are shooting for a project which is directed by your husband, how easy or difficult is it to be on the sets and work with him as there's a personal relationship also attached?

I met Rahul on one of Natak Picture’s sets and for me, he shall always be a director first and then anyone else. Even today while shooting, Rahul's attitude towards me is just like any other director. Sometimes he shouts when needed, applauds when I give a good shot, and also briefs me in the same manner he does to other actors. Probably we love our work too much to bring anything to hamper our equation. We both are very professional on sets and ensure that people who don’t know about our marriage, don’t even get a hint of our relationship, and we’ve been quite successful in doing that.
 

Do you try to give your input in the story or direction, or do you follow Rahul's vision?

No, I never meddle with a director’s vision. Every film/web show is indeed a piece of art that is crafted in a writer’s room and director’s head. Therefore, I believe it is best to leave that job to them while I focus on my acting.
