2013 - Bollywood's Top 10 liplocks

2013
Bollywood has truly come of age in terms of kissing. Gone are the days when two love birds billing and cooing or bonfires blazing were used to depict love making in films. Girls in Bollywood no longer play the vestal virgins. They are not coy about their sexuality and neither is smooching a big deal for them. Tellychakkar.com chronicles the 10 liplocks that created much smoke and fire this year. Ranveer and Deepika (Ram-Leela) Ranveer and Deepika nailed it with this movie (pun unintended). The rumoured lovers set the screen ablaze with their passionate and lust filled romance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s boldest ever take on Romeo and Juliet. Jaws dropped when the virginal Deepika kissed the Casanova Ranveer on his lips at the very first meeting. While moralists cringed at this sheer display of open debauchery, liberalist smiled and applauded Sanjay for daring to show the existence of pure lust between two lovers in its most decent form. The smooch that Ranveer and Deepika share in the climax of the movie, moments before killing each other, ignited deep desires in the minds of every sane soul who watched the movie in the cinema hall. Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor (Aashiqui 2) The sleeper hit of this year, Aashiqui 2 gave lovers across India a new love anthem in the form of Sunn raha hain na tu. And when Aditya Roy Kapoor touched his lips to that of the tender Shraddha, on a turbulent rainy night while shielding her with his jacket, one was suddenly transported back in time to his or her college days when being in love was the only feeling one really yearned for. Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani) There is something mysteriously alluring to see two real life ex-lovers kiss on screen. Expectedly sparks flew when ex-flames Deepika and Ranbir exchanged one on screen after their break up. But more than the kiss, it was the brilliant storyline and the sizzling chemistry between the lead pair that made this movie a runaway hit and both Deepika and Ranbir became the talk of the town after that. No wonder, Katrina was hopping mad after this movie was released. P.S – Soon after this movie was released, Katrina’s bikini pictures from a romantic holiday were splashed all over the internet. Can you read something more between the lines? Arjun Rampal and Chitrangada Singh (Inkaar) Which man in his normal senses can resist the sultry Chitrangada Singh? Well, we can’t and neither could the hunky Arjun Rampal in the movie. Both kissed and made love with alacrity in this Sudhir Mishra movie based on corporate sexual harassment. Farhan Akhtar and Rebecca Breeds (Bhaag Milkha Bhaag) Apart from running, BMB also showed Milkha Singh’s kissing skills through the lips of Farhan Akhtar. When an Indian actor locks lips with a fair lady from Australia, it is bound to create some breaking news. Farhan Akhtar’s passionate lip lock with Rebecca Breeds in a dark alley with not much light falling on their bodies made for an aesthetic viewing pleasure. And after watching it, one could easily say that the Flying Sikh scored well both on and off the running track. John Abraham and Kangana Ranaut (Shootout at Wadala) This was by far the wildest kiss that we have seen this year. A sexually high John biting the lips of a demure sari clad Kangana Ranaut was a sight to behold. Kangana resists but John persists and wins. They then make love like there is no tomorrow. And the movie did make a good amount of moolah too. Randeep Hooda and Aditi Rao Hydari and Sara Loren (Murder 3) Randeep is one lucky man. He got to smooch two incredibly good looking women – Aditi Rao Hydari and Sara Loren - onscreen in Murder 3. And when Bhatts are directing a sex thriller, you can always expect the erotic element to be on the higher side. Randeep though is an old fogey when it comes to kissing, someone who doesn’t mind swinging both ways, on-screen. (Remember how he kissed Saqib in Bombay Talkies). Arjun Kapoor and Sasha Agha (Aurangzeb) Arjun Kapoor tried his best at emulating Emraan Hashmi in this movie by smooching a 19-year old Sasha Agha, at every given opportunity. And we don’t blame the poor Kapoor lad, for he was merely following his director’s diktat. Unfortunately the make-out scenes looked grotesque and lacked dexterity. For most part, it made for a jarring viewing experience. Sushant Singh Rajput and Parineeti Chopra (Shuddh Desi Romance) Much was expected from this movie but it sank without a trace. The fresh pairing between Sushant and Parineeti failed to create any sizzle at the box-office. On the pretext of targeting youth, insane number of kissing sequences was thrown it but it lacked both fire and skill. Most of the time, we just yawned. Imran Khan and Anushka Sharma (Matru ki Bijlee ka Mandola) Imran had a highly disappointing year. None of his films worked at the box-office and neither did his debut liplock create any sizzle. Audience just didn’t like a bearded Imran smooching the hot and sexy Anushka Sharma. This was our list. Want to share your list with us?
