5 Typical Celebrity Quotes And What They Really Mean

Typical Celebrity Quotes And What They Really Mean

We have seen celebrities wax eloquent about a number of issues. From their relationship status to the movies they are doing, they have typical quotes about everything. Let's take a look at their five epic ones and they what they actually mean...read on:

‘We are just friends':
It's one of the most used (or rather abused!) phrases used by celebrities. Even if they are on the verge of tying the knot with each other, they would pretend to be 'just friends'. What they actually mean by this is that they are not sure if they are exclusive with each other. Till that time that's not confirmed, they won't commit to the media about their relationship status. We have only one thing to say to them...YAWN. We know why and when you say this, guys!

'I am waiting for the right role!'
When actors utter this gem, we all collectively roll our eyes. Don't we? Because how many times have we heard once-upon-a-hit actors and average ones saying this to the media? Plenty times. What it actually means is nobody is offering them any roles and they are sitting at home making paper boats and planes. The next time someone says this on TV, you know what they mean...so smirk away!

'I am my own competition':
When a legend like Amitabh Bachchan says this, we can appreciate it. But when your average Tom, Dick and Harry say this dialogue, you simply want to gag. Because you know it's the most ridiculous thing ever. Everybody has a competition, everybody looks up to someone in the industry. So when a celeb utters this gem, it simply means that he is at the bottom of the acting order and nobody really cares whether he can perform or not. Sometimes, it also means that almost everybody is his/her competition and she/he just doesn't know whom to name. Sigh.

'I don't like filmy parties':
This is something we can still not bring our heads around to. How can a person from the film fraternity damn their own parties? That's plan rubbish, isn't it? Well, in all honesty, what the actor is trying to tell you is that he/she doesn't get invited to any of the parties because he/she isn't popular enough. We know how desperate these actors are to get attention and grab the limelight. So why would they consciously stay away from the parties, eh? We especially hate it when starlets and rising stars say this dialogue.

'Award functions are a farce':
Yes, we know it. Awards go to those who perform at the function or at least show up to pick up their awards. But when the film log say this, it reeks of hypocrisy. Well, the same stars who walked away with awards a year before are seen criticising it the next year, because they haven't won been awarded. Uff...even if the audiences call the awards a farce, it's their duty to protect their fraternity. But no. Rey are hell bent on sabotaging their own careers. Actually they are sad that haven't been nominated or given an award, so they cry hoarse about the functions being a set-up.
