#BirthdaySpecial: Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan's controversial B-Town journey

Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan

Ash’s Bollywood journey has been a successful one. For sure. But it has also seen a fair share of controversies. From abusive boyfriends to sick link-ups, the stunner has braved them all with her startling smile. On her birthday today, we take you through some of the most biting controversies of her B-Town life. Read on:

Abusive relationship with Salman:

One of the most shocking news bits that came floating in the early 2000s was regarding Sallu’s alleged abusive ways with his then-lover Ash. The incident escalated so much that Salman apparently barged into the sets of Ash’s movie Chalte Chalte and wreaked havoc. The actress was replaced by Rani Mukerji.

Sick link-up with Big B:

This is one of the sickest rumours ever. Much before she became Mrs Bachchan, the gorgeous lady was rumoured to have had a fling with her future father-in-law, Amitabh Bachchan. This outrageous piece of gossip kept the rumour mills ablaze, while it sickened her fans to no end.

The ‘Heroine’ issue:

She was the original choice for Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine, which was eventually done by Kareena Kapoor-Khan. Apparently Ash shot for a couple of scenes for the flick, but left it mid-way as she was pregnant with Aaradhya. It created a bit of a flutter between the actress and the director. Hmm. But all’s well that ends well, isn’t it?

Post-baby weight issues:

When she refused to shed her post-baby weight, her plumpness was questioned by EVERYBODY. We all conveniently forgot that it was her body, her weight and her decision. Of course, being the fiery actress that she is, she gave it back by turning up in a sweltering figure at the Cannes carpet.

Well, what may come, the “Woman in Steel” has conquered it all!
