Hichki to release in Kazakhstan on 20 September

Rani Mukerji-starrer Hichki will now be released in "Kazakhstan" with a Russian voiceover.

It will be screened across 15 screens in Kazakhstan, and according to makers, it is the biggest release for a Hindi feature film in the nation since 2015.

Rani won hearts as well as box office glory with her convincing and spirited performance as a teacher who deals with Tourette Syndrome in the movie earlier this year. Since then, the film has been winning laurels not just at the home turf but also at various foreign film galas.

Rani finds it amazing that films can cross over to different cultures and languages because of its universal story.

"Hichki is a reflection of society, a reflection of how we all have weaknesses and we need to overcome them to make the world a better place.

"It talks about every person's determination, focus, and positive spirit to win over obstacles. I'm happy that its core message is resonating with audiences across the globe. I am proud of the film and grateful that people are enjoying it," she said in a statement.

The movie is releasing in Kazakhstan after its successful release in Russia.

Kangana to star in Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari's 'Panga'

The film will be presented by Fox Star Hindi. It is being described by the makers as a story that reaffirms that a family who laughs, cries, dreams together and if they are by your side, nothing seems to be impossible to a willing heart.

Kangana found it touching.

"My family has been my pillar of strength and has always stood by me in thick and thin. I could really relate to the emotions of the film. Plus, Ashwiny is known for her slice-of-life films and I loved her recent work Bareilly Ki Barfi.

"Panga is doubly special for me as for the first time, I will play the role of a national level kabbadi player. That's going to be challenging for sure! I am looking forward to some exciting times with Ashwiny and the Fox Star team," she added.

"I was trained by officers who were experts at handling it and I wanted to make sure I live up to the honor of representing a soldier," he added.

Dutta's Paltan will release on 7 September. It is based on the Nathu La and Cho La military clashes of 1967 which took place along the Sikkim border. The film also features Sonu Sood, Siddhanth Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Harshvardhan Rane.
