5 most celebrated masterpiece performances by Nawazuddin Siddqui

MUMBAI: Nawazuddin Siddiqui is Bollywood’s chameleon who can perfectly fit into any character and make it look as much real and possible. Never let his ‘serious’ face fool you because he is extremely good with his coming timing and can tickle your funny bone making you laugh out loudly. He is not just an actor but a complete work of masterpiece art in himself. He can play the role of a gangster, lover, a cop, and almost everything else for that matter. Today, on his birthday lets cherish some of the lesser known world class performances by him.

Ali in Freaky Ali

The film is Nawazuddin’s most daring film where he presents his one of the most celebrated performance yet.  The actor garnered praise from the audience for his hilarious comic timing with not just one, but a bunch of rib-tickling scenes in the movie. Before making the final strike in Freaky Ali, Nawaz says he will make the final strike with a sixer and that is exactly what he did - both in and for the film. The film brings out an unseen side of the actor which was well appreciated by critics and fans alike. Though it’s called Freaky Ali, it should be Siddiqui’s Ali who made it a well packaged entertainer with his performance. Stream Freaky Ali on Amazon Prime Video.

Chand Nawab in Bajrangi Bhaijaan

Nawazuddin Siddiqui rose to fame after his Steller performance in Bajrangi Bhaijaan. He essays the character of Chand Nawab, a Pakistani reporter who then helps Salman Khan and Munni in their mission. However, there were many crucial scenes in the movie that displayed Nawazuddin’s comic avatar but the scene wherein we see him struggling to film his piece-to-camera as people keep interrupting him, is the funniest of all. Stream Bajrangi Bhaijaan on Amazon Prime Video.

Faizal Khan Gangs of Wasseypur

Let’s admit If you have seen this movie, you cannot forget the scene wherein Nawaz keeps his hand on Huma Qureshi's hand without her permission. This scene has a separate fan base altogether. In the entire film, he keeps on asking for her permission, be it for sex or a movie date. It makes it a worth watch to see an actor pulling off all the scenes with totally blank expression on his face and still making us roll on the floor laughing. Watch Gangs of Wasseypur on Amazon Prime Video.

Rafi in Photograph

Nawazuddin’s Photograph is an Amazon studio’s production that captures Romance Blossoming Across Mumbai's Class Divide. It’s a story of a struggling Mumbai street photographer pressured to marry by his grandmother who convinces a shy stranger to pose as his fiancée during a family visit. Despite vast cultural differences, the pair develops a surprising connection that challenges their worldviews in a wistful and funny romance. The film proves to be another master piece from Ritesh Batra who directed The Lunchbox. Stream Photograph on Amazon Prime Video.

Shiv Gajra in Kick

Infusing comedy into serious scenes is an art and Nawaz knows to master it. Yet again Nawazuddin surprised us with his brilliant acting in Salman Khan’s Kick. “Maut Ko Chhu Ke Tak Se Wapas Aa Sakta Hoon.”- The dialogue acquired another level of fan following and is still re-made and re-used in several films. Watch Kick on Amazon Prime Video.

If you haven’t yet watched Nawazuddin’s most celebrated performances, you can stream them now on Amazon Prime Video and stay entertained.
