Abhishek Bachchan is busy with the shoot of Anurag Basu’s next. The actor is back after a sabbatical and has signed multiple interesting projects. Abhishek’s comeback of sorts, Manmarziyaan was loved by the audience. As per some media reports, it seems that the actor has signed a project on the digital platform too.

At a recent event, director Shoojit Sircar interviewed Abhishek Bachchan. He was asked about his family, his love for sports and the pressure of being a Bachchan. Shoojit also asked if he feels because of #MeeToo movement safety measures will be taken and whether or not his daughter Aaradhya would want to enter the industry.

During the interview, Abhishek said that the women who are very close to him-- his mother and wife-- have worked in this industry on their own terms, and they didn’t have to do something they didn’t wish to do.

Sharing his take on the huge debate on gender parity in the film business and other industries, the actors said, “I have worked with my wife in nine movies and out of that in eight movies she was paid more than me, and also the highest-paid actor in Piku was Deepika. This is a saleable industry if you are saleable as an actor then you will be paid what you deserve, you can’t be a newcomer and ask the fee of Shah Rukh Khan.”

Talking about harassment being faced by women, he said he wouldn’t be afraid as his daughter would be capable of taking care of herself.

He also shared his opinion on the Me Too movement in India and said that it scares him because he feels that as a society we are not ready for it, a complete rethinking of behaviour that has passed down to us since generations.

He concluded by saying that first, we need to stop character assassination; we have to listen before we judge. “I don’t know what the end game of this campaign will be; what I am sure of is that it will set people thinking and make them aware, and that’s a welcome start.”
