The most powerful, stylish and talented actor of Tollywood, Prosenjit Chatterjee turned a year older and cooler on September 30. While interacting with the media after the cake-cutting ceremony, the actor shared, “I still remember how my mother used to borrow money from others to celebrate my birthday...I was 17-18 back then...it was her way of doing PR for me. At that time, birthday was all about fun and enjoyment.” 

 “But today I feel that birthdays are a challenge because it means that a year ended from our life. I count how many things are there to complete and take care of. One of the primary agendas on the list is staying healthy and fit because then only I will be able to proceed both in life and work,” he added.  

The ‘Jaatishwar’ actor expressed that the one thing he misses on his birthdays is the sweet delicacy ‘payesh’ prepared by his mother.  

Talking about this year’s favourite birthday moment, he shared, “In the afternoon after getting down from the flight, I visited an NGO, which is home to handicapped children. Among them, there was a kid aged 6-7 who fed me payesh after the cake cutting-ceremony and that was my first payesh today.”

“If I am not busy shooting, this is the only day when I attend all the phone calls whether the number is saved or not,” he added with a smile. 

In between the interaction, Prosenjit also spoke about his responsibility towards the entertainment world of West Bengal. He said, “I think I have a responsibility towards the industry in terms of growth and development.”

“We have to create a proper project and approach our CM (Mamata Banerjee) professionally to discuss about the things required for the development. We also have to approach our well-wishers to invest on it. Only then can we revamp our industry,” added the actor.   

Prosenjit believes that there should be a blend of economy and creativity. He said that there are many raw talents in the industry who need a proper platform and exposure to get their works recognized.Citing an example, the actor said, “It feels great to see a fresh concept like ‘Babar Naam Gandhiji’ directed by Pavel. I think he should be provided a bigger platform.”

The actor will be seen next in films like Rupali's ‘Porichoi’, Sujoy Ghosh's ‘Ringtone’ and Srijit Mukherji’s ‘Pahachuray Atonko (Kakababu 2)’ to name a few. Here’s wishing him success in everything he chooses to do!
