Chiranjeet Chakraborty to play detective in Ayan Chakraborti's thriller Shororipu

Chiranjeet Chakraborty
Ace actor Chiranjeet Chakraborty is all set to essay the role of a detective in Ayan Chakraborti’s upcoming thriller Shororipu (Fab Four Films). The actor feels that the film has an important message for the audiences. “The story has been penned down very intelligently. It will remind people, who have forgotten, of the six sins which forces one to commit crimes. It will also let young generation know about the evil passions,” Chiranjeet said at the trailer and music launch of the film. The plot of the thriller revolves around the negative effects of the six vices (lust, anger, greed, attachment, pride and jealousy) present in a person and how it makes a person do the wrong. In a span of two hours five dead bodies are found in Kolkata. While investigating the case, the detective discovers that all the murders are linked. How the murders take place and what role the six vices play is for the viewers to find out. The director, who earlier made films like Pichutan and Judhishthir for TV, commented on Shororipu, “The film, through detective Chandra (Chiranjeet), tells that the six vices can be found in every human being in different amounts. But if a person is virtually a prisoner of all the six evil passions, his destiny will meet a deadly consequence.” “I hope the audience will like the film,” he added with a smile. Shororipu also stars Rajatava Dutta as a Jewish industrialist, Indranil Sengupta as a Bengali industrialist, Rudranil Ghosh as a manager of a jewellery shop, Rajesh Sharma as DCP, Sudipta Chakraborty as a drug addict, Konnenica Banerjee as detective Chandra's assistant and Bangladeshi actress Sohana Saba as the Jewish industrialist’s wife. The film is slated to hit the screens on 3rd June, 2016
