Mumbai: Here we bring you all the fresh news and happenings from the world of Hollywood.

No more romantic comedies for Julia Roberts

Actress Julia Roberts says her days of starring in romantic comedies are over.

Roberts built her career starring in some of the most enduring romantic comedies of the modern film era.

Now, the actress has admitted that she feels she has had too much life experience to convincingly star in a rom-com, reports the leading publication.

The actress has iconic rom-coms like Pretty Woman, My Best Friend's Wedding and Notting Hill on her impressive list of credits.

"There came a point in my career where people thought I had turned on romantic comedies, which I love them, I love to be in them, I love to watch them. But sometimes, they just don't work at a certain point of life experience," she added.

For Roberts, the disconnect comes when the audience doesn't believe that the actors in the film aren't naive and emotionally juvenile, as the characters in rom-coms tend to be to allow for the zany situations in the genre.

"It's not about age, it's just about what people know that you know," Roberts explained.

She will next be seen in thriller Homecoming. It will stream on Amazon Prime Video from 2 November.

The show, adapted from a podcast with the same name, follows the life of case worker-turned-waitress Heidi Bergman (Roberts) as she struggles to remember her time working at a facility that treats soldiers returning from war.

Chris O'Donnell sued for car accident caused by daughter

A personal trainer named Tracy Sutton is suing NCIS: Los Angeles star Chris O'Donnell for a car accident his daughter caused.

Lily Anne O'Donnell, 19, was driving when she reportedly rear-ended another motorist who slammed into Tracy Sutton's car in 2016, reports the leading publication.

Her father is being sued by Sutton, who claims she suffered serious neck and back injuries that affected her ability to work, because he is the registered owner of the vehicle.

Lily is also named as a defendant, according to leading publication.

Actress Diana Sowle dead at 88

Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory actress Diana Sowle is dead. She was 88.

She passed away in the early hours of Friday morning (19 October), a statement from her agent said, reports the leading publication.

"It is with deep sadness that we announce the loss of beloved friend, family member and actress Diana Sowle at the age of 88. Diana passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, October 19, with family by her side.

"She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and will be dearly missed, the statement said."

She ran a free tutoring programme for underprivileged children in her hometown of Washington DC, for the past 23 years.

The actress also appeared in the 1994 film Clear and Present Danger, alongside actor Harrison Ford, and had a voice role in popular computer game "Fallout 3".

She also appeared as the character Mrs. Schubert in Shear Madness, a long running non-musical play.

She lived here with her husband until his death in 2013.

Paula Abdul suffers major fall mid-show

Singer Paula Abdul lost her balance and suffered a major fall from the stage during her Mississippi concert.

While performing "The Promise of a New Day" song, the 56-year-old singer suddenly came at the edge of the stage and fell from it, leaving fans in shock, with one woman screaming after she went down, according to the reports.

According to eyewitnesses, Abdul did not appear hurt. She hurriedly got up and continued the show without any pause.

Abdul is currently on her Straight Up Paula! 2018 Tour, her first solo tour in 25 years.

She rose to fame in the late 1980s and early 1990s as a pop star and dancer, and then became a household name again as one of the original judges on American Idol.

The star has also suffered from chronic pain for years and has been open about her struggle.

Payne says getting dumped is 'story of my life'

Former One Direction star Liam Payne has joked that getting dumped is the story of his life after his split from singer Cheryl earlier this year.

Payne spoke about his unlucky-in-love status at the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards, reports the leading publication.

When asked about the most embarrassing thing he had done to win over a girl, Payne recalled, "I once sang to a girl at the lockers. I asked her out a record number of times, I asked her out loads and really fancied her.

"But she dumped me. She went out with me because I sang to her and then dumped me the next day!"

Before adding with a laugh, "The story of my bloody life if I'm honest, it happens to me loads. It's what seems to happen."

The interview at London's Wembley Arena comes three months after he separated from Cheryl, with whom he shares son Bear.

The pair started dating in early 2016, and welcomed their first child the following year.

Pete Davidson 'still in love' with Grande

Singer Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson called off their engagement earlier this month, but the "Saturday Night Live" star reportedly still has hope for relationship with her.

Friends of the comedian told The Post that the 24-year-old is holding out hope that he will get back together with Grande after the singer instigated a break-up earlier this month, reports the leading publication.

"I talked to Pete a few days ago and he was joking again," said a friend of Davidson.

"He's still in love with Ariana and sees a future with her."

But, at least for now, "He knows (the break-up) is for the best."

The couple had confirmed their engagement in June after a whirlwind romance.

Cara Delevingne used to hate her eyebrows

Model-actress Cara Delevingne is known for her signature full eyebrows, but says that when she was younger, she tried to make them smaller.

"I did (hate my brows), and my mum would always tell me they were my best feature. I was like, 'They look like giant slugs on my face and you think they are my best feature?' I wanted small eyebrows, and I'd try to tweeze them down.

"I was also naturally skinny, but I wanted curves," Delevingne told InStyle magazine.

The Suicide Squad star believes that a lot of women harbour insecurities about their appearance, reports the leading publication.

However, she believes that "real beauty is from within" and has argued that less importance should be attached to looks.

She said, "I don't know why we do that as women. I didn't start appreciating my brows until everyone else did. We want to be skinnier, we want to be taller, we want to have a big b**, those are fads, and real beauty is from within.

"I mean... we can all be vain at times, but for me, looks are one of the least meaningful things in my life."

Viola Davis says 'The Help' is 'missed opportunity'

Oscar-winning actress Viola Davis says she considers The Help to be a "missed opportunity".

"Listen, The Help changed my life in a lot of different ways. First of all, the friendships that I got - that experience is something I know I'll never have again. And Tate (Taylor, the director) is a great collaborator," Davis told the leading publication.

The actress, who played the part of Aibileen Clark, one of the maids, added, "I don't want them to feel that I am blasting them in any way. It has nothing to do with the players."

Instead, she feels uncomfortable that the story is largely told from the viewpoint of a white woman.

"It has something to do with the culture - that I don't feel that people want to see, want to hear that voice in that time period. Because what it will become is an indictment, and it shouldn't be. I look back at that movie as a missed opportunity."

The film is set during the Civil Rights movement and Davis feels it was "just too filtered down".

The acclaimed actress wishes The Help, based on a 2009 novel of the same name by Kathryn Stockett, would have presented a more well-rounded version of history.
