There was strong buzz in the media about Deepika Padukone cast opposite Salman Khan in Kabir Khan's Tubelight.

But looks the dream pair might not materialise on the screen, according to a popular entertainment site.

The site adds that the makers are looking for a Chinese-origin actress for the part as the movie is said to be about two brothers, where Salman plays one of them. The shoot locations are apparently scheduled close to the Indo-China border.

When rumours started doing the rounds about Deepu being approached for the big-ticket film, there were reports about the actress demanding for a meatier role in the film, while Kabir was allegedly not ready to do.

The actress, it's said, would be chosen after a round of auditions. There were blind items in gossip sites that spoke about Katrina Kaif, who's worked with Salman and Kabir in many super hits, was vying for the role and apparently lost her cool when her arch rival Deepika was chosen to play the lead. May be the two can call it a truce now, eh?

According to a source close to the entertainment site, "Deepika has realised that she doesn’t have much scope in this film. Her condition was that they increase her role when she comes on board, but Kabir is very strict with his writing and doesn’t plan to do any such thing. Hence the makers will go as planned with a girl of Chinese origin.”

Let's hope that whoever is chosen to play Salman's heroine lives up to the hype and delivers a rocking performance. We can't wait to have Sallu-Kabir recreate their magic. Can you?
